"Corpus temporario" is a triptych composed of three digitally manipulated images. The triptych consists of a central messiah-like figure with two framing images of torsos and heavenly radiance. At first the images appear celestial and spiritual, but in fact all the images are derived from photographs of the human body, its organs, and its cells. This visual contrast between the 'physical body' and the 'heavenly body' is the quintessential origin of 'Paradise'.
Kurzfilmen uber arabische Menschen.
The performance by Eliane and Tomas used a video-audio software called IMAGE/INE to project an interactive video on a screen. The voice of Eliane and the sounds made by the audience controlled and manipulated the video images. In addition, audio of middle eastern music and singing was used. The video consisted of images and short movies of about Arab people. The idea was to guide the audience into Paradise through video and audio. The concept was inspired by a Palestinian friend who said that if someone calls a place or a building a 'holy place', it will someday result people killing each other for the place. This is the case among the people of Israel and Palestine.
